The Stagg HS Music Program (and its teachers!) are dedicated to creating educated, independent, music When in doubt...SING!
Stagg Choirs used a research based approach to educating students to be thoughtful, entertaining, literate, creative musicians. They use a method of reading rhythms called TAKADIMI and a tonal system of reading pitches called SOLFEGE (DO, RE, MI). Students are NOT taught by rote (simply repeating after the teacher), but by reading the music for themselves - it saves time, is more fun, and demands that students develop higher level skills!

And this brings PB & J Day to a close! My promise to my classes: "When we are together again, PB & J for all my students!" (In the meantime I have to eat this all myself.) Lunch is on! Remember...how you give directions and how you carry them out are very important.

Stagg High Choir! Some day we'll be back together. Yes, we will. Until then, what can we possibly do?.....Make Music!! We'll be seeing each other online. When you see your teachers you can hug or high-5 your computer screen. We'll get the message. It's not going to be the same for now, but we'll be doing this together!

Stagg Orchestra and Guitar with Mr Mills. What's his superpower? He's "String Man." This year will be different....good!! We needed a challenge and Stagg HS has the teachers and students to take the challenge head on. Bring it!

Class of 2020! Whoop! Whoop! I'm so proud of all of you. And, especially Stagg Band, Choir, Orcestra, Piano and Guitar! Four years ago you showed us that you know how to start something. Today, you showed us you know how to finish! The world is what you make it, make it a good one. Good luck achieving all your goals and dreams. Mr. Swope, Mr. Niemela, and Mr. Mills.
