Yesterday we had the pleasure of hosting Delia Larkin , Community Schools Partnership Specialist from Edison High School and her "crew" from their feeder schools Dolores Huerta Elementary .eagles , McKinley Elementary , and Grunsky Elementary. Looking ahead, strategizing, imagining, and then putting vision into action through measured outcomes. Last week the Directors staff of CHS had their strategic planning day to plan and talk through initiatives and dream about where we want to be in the next 3 years. Always keeping our vision of "guiding youth forward toward hope and resiliency" as the focal point. It's a great team of leaders, doers, and compassionate visionaries. Thank you to our CEO Joelle Gomez for challenging us to new heights and stretching our goals. From homelessness to financial independence 💵. Financial literacy is a big part of helping our Catalyst participants with their goals. Solana has successfully purchased her first vehicle 🚗, demonstrating significant growth in financial literacy. Through budgeting and responsible financial planning 📊, she was able to make a large purchase while maintaining financial stability and not compromising her overall needs. Transportation to and from work and school is now a part of Solana's daily drive. CONGRATULATIONS Solana!! 🙌

Congratulations to our CEO Joelle Gomez for her reappointment by Governor Gavin Newsom to the Commission on the Status of Women and Girls, where she has served since 2022. Joelle has been Chief Executive Officer here at CHS since 2016. She was Chief Executive Officer at Women’s Center Youth and Family Services from 1997 to 2016. Joelle is Chair of the San Joaquin County Children’s Services Coordinating Commission and member of the San Joaquin County Commission on the Status of Women, the California Alliance of Child and Family Services, and the St. Joseph’s Medical Center Advisory Committee.

We are so excited and grateful to The Market at Delta College for arranging this backpack 🎒 drive for our young adults here at CHS. Only two more weekends to donate and fill a backpack, Head over to Delta in the BUDD 4 PARKING LOT this weekend and next (end August 30th) and fill a backpack 🎒 for the start of the school year! We love our community partners! 💪
