Yesterday, our 2nd and 3rd grade Jaguars had the opportunity to participate in SUSD PD’s A.M.P.S. (Anger Management Program for Students) with Officer Robbie. Students learned that anger is a natural emotion and discussed positive ways to manage their feelings, make good choices, and understand the consequences of their actions. A big thank you to SUSD PD and Officer Robbie for spending time with our students and helping them build important skills for success!

Ayer, nuestros Jaguares de 2do y 3er grado tuvieron la oportunidad de participar en el A.M.P.S. de SUSD PD. (Programa de Manejo de la Ira para Estudiantes) con el Oficial Robbie. Los estudiantes aprendieron que la ira es una emoción natural y discutieron formas positivas de manejar sus sentimientos, tomar buenas decisiones y comprender las consecuencias de sus acciones. ¡Muchas gracias a la policía de SUSD y al oficial Robbie por pasar tiempo con nuestros estudiantes y ayudarlos a desarrollar habilidades importantes para el éxito!

Flu Clinic Coming Soon!

It’s that time of year! Our school will be hosting a Flu Clinic on September 24. Consent forms were sent home with students on Wednesday.

If you would like your child to receive their flu vaccine at school, both the nasal mist and flu shot options will be available.

Please complete the consent form and return it to school as soon as possible if you would like your child to participate.

Thank you for helping us keep our students, staff, and school community healthy!

¡La Clínica De La Gripe Llegará Pronto!

¡Es esa época del año! Nuestra escuela organizará una clínica de gripe el 24 de septiembre. Los formularios de consentimiento se enviaron a casa con los estudiantes el miércoles.

Si desea que su hijo reciba su vacuna contra la gripe en la escuela, las opciones de niebla nasal y vacuna contra la gripe estarán disponibles.

📸 Wednesday, September 2
Students in Kindergarten–4th Grade will have their pictures taken.

📸 Thursday, September 3
Students in 5th–8th Grade will have their pictures taken, along with any students who were unable to take their picture on September 2.

If your child did not receive a Picture Day flyer, please contact the school office or your child’s teacher so we can make sure you have all the information you need.

We can’t wait to capture those Jaguar smiles!

SUSD Family Empowerment Conference Friday from 4:00-8:00pm.

Join us at the 3rd annual Family Empowerment Conference this Friday August 21 at Edison High School.

Free food, music, resource booths and performances.

The event begins at 4:00. Doors open at 3:30.

Conferencia de Empoderamiento Familiar de SUSD el viernes de 4:00 a 8:00 p. m.

Bully Prevention at San Joaquin!

Along with our Counseling Introduction lessons, students will be participating in Bully Prevention lessons throughout August and September.

We’re also sharing this resource with families to reinforce our 3 R’s: Recognize, Report, and Refuse.

Together, we can create a school where all students are welcomed, valued, and respected.

Junto con nuestras lecciones de Introducción a la Consejería, los estudiantes participarán en las lecciones de Prevención del Acoso durante agosto y septiembre.

También estamos compartiendo este recurso con las familias para reforzar nuestras 3 R: Reconocer, Informar y Rechazar.
