More about our online camps this summer:
We were so looking forward to celebrating our 75th year on the beautiful campus of the University of the Pacific; however, due to COVID-19, our priority is the safety of camp students, faculty and staff. Knowing how much Pacific Music Camp means to so many, we came up with an online alternative that will keep us connected this summer. For 2020, we will offer three camps online:
Piano Camp- June 22-25
Senior Brass, Woodwinds, Strings, Percussion & Vocal Camp - July 13-16
Music Business Camp - July 20-22
Students will have the opportunity to take master classes, private lessons and a wonderful variety of elective classes at the Senior Camp including Music in Film, Entrepreneurship for Musicians, Intro to Music Therapy, Jazz Improvisation, Music History, Music Theory and Recording Studio Techniques. All of these classes will be taught by music faculty from Pacific's Conservatory of Music. In addition Jessica Siena, the Conservatory’s Director of Admissions, will lead a class on navigating college admissions.
Our Piano Camp, under the guidance of Conservatory faculty member Dr. Sonia Leong, has maintained a reputation of high quality for many years. Students will study and perform some of the great Classical works for piano.
The Music Business Camp will be led by Christine Taunton and Conservatory faculty member Keith Hatschek. Students will learn the business side of the music industry including artist development, songwriting and music producing. This camp is open to non-musicians as well as musicians.
The 2020 Online Pacific Music Camp will be a great opportunity for students in grades 8-12 to learn more about music, connect with like-minded students and meet many of our music faculty at the University of the Pacific.
