Herbology Lover?
Meet Professor Baba Yana Kvetchinova
Professor Baba Yana Kvetchinova is sure to be a favorite of our herbology loving students. Her infectious love of plants and their magical properties will transfix our mages as she leads them in building a magical wild flower garden on the grounds of the Mill! A master storyteller, our new herbology professor is sure to entertain, while digging in the dirt and sharing her copious knowledge of the magical uses of various plants.
Danielle Levsky (she/they) aka Professor Baba Yana Kvetchinova is a transdisciplinary artist who has written, performed, and produced a series of solo performances, as well as devised ensemble work with institutions like National Q***r Theater (NYC), Diversionary Theater (San Diego), The Conspirators (Chicago), Silent Theatre Company (Chicago), Prop Thtr (Chicago), and more. They also teach workshops in person and online on clown practice and performance, Jewish clown history, and their original creation, The Fool’s Yoga, a movement class that blends vinyasa yoga, meditation, and clown exercises/games. Danielle received her clown teaching certification through The Clown School in Los Angeles and her 200-hour Yoga Alliance Vinyasa Flow certification through the Lab Yoga Studio in Chicago. They can’t wait to discover and create magic with young witches, wizards, and mages this summer at Fiddleheart Academy. It’s time to manage some mischief!

There is only one Professor De’Magia!
The most glamorous and vastly talented, Professor De’Magia heralds from Andora, a hidden island off the coast of Italy. Having previously taught classes and workshops in Magizoology and Dark Magic Defense, this year she will take up the position of Potions Master! Hanna Gaffney was an avid reader of The Lost Years of Merlin, The Wheel of Time and other such magical tomes as a young witch. Now, when she is not visiting her magical home of Andora, she resides in Philadelphia where she works as an actor, voice over artist, and writer. She is a Barrymore Award Winning actor based out of Philadelphia and has been seen on many regional stages, but most recently has been pursuing a career in TV and Film. She can be seen on a variety of commercials on air and on the web, but her favorite credits include playing the titular role in “Holly and the Hot Chocolate” and a small role in M Night Shyamalan’s “Knock at the Cabin”. Always on the vanguard of new wizarding world fashion trends, she prefers wearing a wand gauntlet instead of a wand holster as a means of safely carrying one’s wand.

Fiddleheart’s Favorite Water Nixie is BACK!
Our students know her as Suzu, the Mill Nixie. Suzu is an unusual magical being with an unusual story. Due to a deal of enchantment struck 100 years ago, Suzu assumes her human form during the day and transforms into a water nixie at night. She has an insatiable love of sweets, is an enthusiastic Quidditch player and can share insights into her nixie nature with our students.
Leigha Kato is an actor & singer currently based in New York after having worked extensively in Philadelphia at such theaters as Arden and Quintessence. She has forever loved everything sparkly and magical and has been delighting everyone with her magic to Fiddleheart since 2016. She brings her immense curiosity of creativity, a lifetime of spells and skills and higher education from the University of the Arts. She is enthusiastically awaiting her magical summer at Fiddleheart where she can finally frolic with her fellow magi, play with dragons and dance with the fairies!

The Keeper of the Keys is a very special role at Fiddleheart Academy! 🗝️
For those of you joining us this year, the Keeper of the Keys is the mage who will greet you in the morning, checking you in when you arrive on the grounds everyday. The Keeper will bid you farewell in the afternoon, checking you out when you leave for the day. The Keeper uses their unique magical gifts to keep our days running smoothly and safely~ a much appreciated talent as so many unexpected events happen at a school for magic (naturally!). Parents, guardians and students alike will all know the smile of the Keeper very well. This year we welcome a new Keeper of the Keys: Jack McManus, aka Warden Wisteria. We are thrilled to have them join our esteemed staff at Fiddleheart this summer.

Jack is a theatre artist and educator based in Philadelphia. Holding a degree in Theatre and Political Science from Swarthmore College, Jack has always had a deep interest in how the arts can be used as a tool for the betterment of the world. Since receiving their degree, they have worked as a scenic designer, performer, and in various administrative and organizational roles around the greater Philadelphia area. Jack also teaches, directs, and designs as a faculty member at Westtown School. Welcome, Jack!
