I am so thrilled to extend this opportunity to host Donté Clark, writer and star of the fabulous web series "The North Pole" and Poet Laureate of Richmond, CA. Donté will talk about his work depicting and representing struggles against gentrification and the production of his web series, and will read from his latest book of poetry dealing with these themes.

University of the Pacific has partnered with the Abbott Fund to combat the diabetes crisis in Stockton by establishing the Abbott Fund Scholars, which will pay 50% of tuition costs for Pacific MSW students. MSW students who are Abbott Fund Scholars will complete a sub-specialization in Diabetes Care and Management (DCM) within the healthcare specialization of the MSW program. This sub-specialization is designed for students interested in pursuing health social work careers focused on diabetes prevention, education and management in Stockton. Recipients of the scholarship must reside in Stockton and must be willing to commit to working in Stockton for two years after graduation.
