Jaguars are practicing patience, active listening and rhythm while sharing their feelings through drumming! Students in our after school program are taking trips to the John R. During their most recent lesson on Monday, Zan led his class on call-and-response exercises, inviting students to break down the words for their favorite snacks through drum beats.

The oldest known carousel dates back centuries, and thanks to hundreds of years in scientific advancements, engineers are still designing these spinning devices to this day!

Earlier today, our 1st Graders learned history and physics from Brent and Eva Fujii of Bricks 4 Kidz - Stockton, CA. Students gained an understanding of the force required to keep a merry-go-round spinning and why it can make you feel dizzy after exiting the ride. After their special science lesson, they used LEGO bricks and motors to create fast-moving merry-go-rounds of their own.

John R. Williams students make us proud with their commitment, determination and academic achievements every year! Last night in the Lincoln Performing Arts Center, families and staff gathered to recognize our Jaguars at the Spotlight on Success Awards Ceremony. To receive a medal, students had to reach a Proficient or Advanced level on the California Assessment of Student Performance and Progress for the 2024-25 academic year.

Let's hear it for the 95 students who gave their all to earn awards, including many of our Dual Language learners and five student speakers!
