Thank you Representative Ann Kelley for taking time to talk with our students during your busy schedule last week. We also loved the treats you made! The students were impressed by your hustle back and forth talking them and representing your community. In order to help Senior Tyler Nance practice for his certification test on Thursday, Mr. Seela held open shop night for our welders. It looks like Tyler spent some time teaching Senior Health Occupations student, Jillian Humes some sweet welding skills! Extra-curricular activities take dedication, commitment, and the fortitude to perfect a craft. Our students are not only leaders in our building, but leaders in their home schools, communities, and teams. We will be highlighting their accomplishments as the year goes on.

First up: Lamar High School Junior, welder, Austin Wilkerson and Lamar High School Senior, welder, Tucker Torbeck. These two earned All-State First Team OL and Defensive Player of the Year Honors for a nearly perfect season with the Lamar Tiger Football Team. Congratulations!

However, what is more impressive is the manner in which they conducted themselves as sportsman. They showed leadership and grace following victory and defeat. These two young men have worked hard to achieve excellence! Well done!

Bracy Martinez from Liberal High School and Justin Aldridge from Lockwood High School are setting up the new 3D printer in the Machine Tool Technology Program. The first project completed on this new equipment was a holder for the tools used on the 3D printer.

Today, thanks to these local businesses, LCTC was able to provide a Thanksgiving meal to each of our students in morning and afternoon. The staff smoked 25 turkeys and Lamar High School’s Foods Class prepared delicious sides. The students were very grateful for the meal and the time to spend together.
