Celebrating 36 Years of the Americans with Disabilities Act 🎉

Today, we reflect on the 36th Anniversary of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA). On July 26th, we honor this landmark civil rights law that ensures individuals with disabilities have the same rights and opportunities as everyone else.

From public life to private places, the ADA champions accessibility and equality, which is at the heart of what we do in our speech, occupational, education and related services.

Here’s to 36 years of progress and to continuing the work of building equity, access, and inclusion for all.

Today we’re highlighting one of our favorite tools in occupational therapy, and it might surprise you: Jenga!

This classic game is so much more than fun and games.
It builds pincer and 3-jaw chuck grasp (key for daily living skills), while sharpening visual scanning and spatial awareness.

It strengthens balance and postural control, promotes executive functioning like planning and impulse control, and builds social-emotional skills through turn-taking, patience, and handling failure.

At Celebrations Speech Group, we believe therapy should meet children where they are through play that feels natural, engaging, and meaningful. Every block placed, every turn taken, and every wobble of the tower is an opportunity for growth.

Our Celebrations Speech Group community went all in for World Cup Spirit Week! And had fun!🎉

From jerseys and team colors to soccer-themed activities and our Guess the World Cup Champion contest, our patients, families, and staff brought the energy across our Brentwood, Stockton, and Elk Grove clinics!

Now we’re counting down to the World Cup Final this Sunday! 🏆 Who guessed the champion correctly? Will Argentina or Spain take home the title? 👀 Stay tuned for our CSG Gift Basket winners who made the winning prediction!
