We will truly miss Officer Chrim!đź’š
Best of luck on your new adventure!

Let’s hear it for the committed, caring and supportive leader and friend who has helped Village Oaks students for more than two years! Today was Officer Salin Chrim-Marquez’s last day as our school resource officer. She will continue to serve our community in a new role as an on-patrol police officer!

Officer Chrim first joined the Lincoln Unified Public Safety Department in March 2021, and she immediately fell in love with the Village Oaks campus and community. Before coming to VO, Officer Chrim served as a deputy for the Merced County Sheriff’s Office and as an officer for the Stockton Unified School District Police Department. One of the main goals of her career has been to provide a positive and supportive presence for youth so they can grow up to be responsible and kind adults. She has spent much of her time with Village Oaks students developing the positive relationships she believes all officers should have with youth in their community.

Officer Chrim says her time as our school resource officer has given her better insight on how to help change someone for the better. To this day, Officer Chrim fondly recalls the moments when students have thanked her for helping them find a better path in life. She is especially proud of the work she has done with the Girls Empowerment Team, a safe space where young women at Village Oaks can discuss issues without judgment as they work to resolve conflicts. This group is also a way for students to learn how they can give back to their community through engagement and service. The team building activities this club has enjoyed together, including rock climbing and a variety of field trips, have been some of the many highlights of Officer Chrim’s time here.

Officer Chrim is sad to leave Village Oaks, but she is thankful for all the ways she has grown while working here. The time she’s spent talking with students and parents has helped her to better relate to youth and adults throughout our region. Officer Chrim values all the relationships she’s built at Village Oaks, and looks forward to whatever her future may hold.

We wish you the best and thank you for all you’ve done here, Officer Chrim!

Our team is amazing!!đź’š

One of our student’s bicycle chain broke on his way to school. Principal Tigert and our Officers did not hesitate to help him out. They had his broken chain replaced as well as his tires.
We always want to make sure our students have a safe and reliable way to get to school!! 🚲
