8th grade students participated in a PBIS Pep Rally today to reinforce the SOAR expectations and participate in friendly competition for the SOAR Spirit Stick. We are so proud of how our 8th graders have started the school year and setting great examples as student leaders in the building.

Coach Wells partnered with Mrs. Jackson to model and co-teach a GaDOE "Up in the Air" Learning Plan where students used a concrete model to help them understand how to
add and subtract integers.

Digital Citizenship Day at GRDMS where students make a commitment to be Digital Citizens when they receive their laptops.

Our 8th grade scientists are using the Balloon Balance Investigation to test, observe, and discover if air has mass and takes up space--proving that Air is Matter.

General Ray Davis Middle School will host our Open House for rising 6th, 7th, and 8th grade students and guardians on July 29th from 3pm - 6pm.

All families need to complete the Annual Student Information Update in Parent Portal for the 26-27 SY. Students will need the update completed to get a laptop the first week of school. Assistance will also be available at Open House on July 29th from 3pm-6pm.

Today's Preplanning Spirit Week assignment was Team Spirit Wear. Each team or department could pick a theme. Admin/Office chose Christmas in July, 7Bravo were Pinkalicious, some of 6th grade had custom made SOAR-ing from Every Position shirts, and Connections and 7Oscar chose a gold theme.
