😂💃 POV: The music starts and our 1st graders understood the assignment…

Our 1st graders are celebrating Hispanic Heritage Month by dancing to the 🎶 “21 Spanish-Speaking Countries” song! 🌎❤️

Then, they chose Colombia 🇨🇴 to explore together, sharing fun facts about its culture and delicious foods!

At HWIS, learning about different cultures is always an adventure! ❤️💛💚

✨ EAGLE values in action! 🦅
Our HWIS K–5 students came together this afternoon to kick off our EAGLE Assemblies and explore how their everyday choices can help build a caring and supportive school community.
EAGLE stands for Excellence, Advanced Biliteracy, Global Competence, Leadership, and Empathy. Students discussed how they can put these values into action by showing kindness, respecting others, and taking responsibility for their choices.
We’re excited to see our EAGLE values come to life throughout the school year! 🦅

✨ A glimpse into the art of Chinese calligraphy! 🖌️
Our 2nd graders had a special visit from a guest who introduced them to the beautiful tradition of Chinese calligraphy. Students explored traditional brush techniques, practiced their strokes, and experienced a hands-on connection to Chinese language and culture.

This is just the first look at their experience! Stay tuned for more photos and a reel featuring our students in action. 💛

Beyond the Blueprint — A Wonderful Community Event! 💙 HudsonWay alumna Rachel Ma helped organize and fundraise for Beyond the Blueprint, a guest speaker event hosted by the HudsonWay Immersion School Parents Association (HWISPA) in collaboration with the Zonta Club of Morristown Area. Students and families heard from inspiring speakers in law enforcement, aviation, and mental health, who shared their experiences and professional journeys.

A special highlight was Rachel presenting a $6,000 donation to the Zonta Club of Morristown Area from her summer volleyball fundraiser, supporting the Young Women in Leadership Award. 💙 We are so proud of Rachel for using her leadership and passion to give back to her community!

Thank you to our speakers, organizers, volunteers, and families who helped make this event such a meaningful success! ✨

Starting the School Year with Hands-On Learning! ✨
Our 2nd Grade Mandarin students are starting the school year by exploring the fascinating origins of Chinese writing! After learning about Cangjie and the earliest Chinese characters, students explored oracle bone script, one of the earliest forms of written Chinese.

They then brought their learning to life by using clay to create their own pictographic characters, inspired by the shapes and ideas behind ancient Chinese writing.

What a wonderful way to start the school year—with language, history, creativity, and hands-on learning! 🏮✨
