The last two weeks of school have been and will be sporadic with classes and so I’ve just been having fun with who I get! Bottom line, kids love being kids - regardless of the age: perfect example, had a few 4th graders come in for class and - you guessed it! They had a blast with Potato Pets - and even went into story maps and character studies of the simple picture book, The Couch Potato.

Tried my hand with 3rd graders and the “potato pet” activity/book…it was a riot! We have some super creative kids in our school and what they come up with sometimes is just - wow! Proud of them always 🩷

The culmination of our "Chicka Chicka Peep Peep" week was a success, with notable participation from certain classes who journaled about, greeted, and read to their Peeps. Students who demonstrated responsibility and completed their writings and interactions with the pet peeps were rewarded with jelly beans today! The enthusiasm and engagement from the kids indicate that this will be a continued activity, and I am grateful to the classroom teachers for their assistance in implementing the challenge throughout the week. Everyone have a wonderful weekend hangin’ with your peeps!

Maryetta Raider Pride!!

Oklahoma students from across the state submitted nearly 400 designs for the Oklahoma Shift Bookmark Design Challenge. Seven winners were selected, and their bookmarks are now circulating in bookstores, libraries, and schools—celebrating reading and supporting Oklahoma classrooms.
