Gertie Mulder is truly one of a kind, and her upcoming retirement after nearly 40 years of dedicated service makes this recognition especially meaningful. Throughout her career, Gertie has been the steady heart of the Department of Biology - dependable, humble, and deeply committed to the success of others.

Generations of colleagues and students have benefited from her kindness, wisdom, and quiet leadership. Her lasting impact is reflected not only in the strength of her department, but in the many lives she has touched along the way.
