Congratulations to Jaselyn Rossman on becoming the 92nd Miss Oklahoma, securing her spot in the Miss America Competition! Jaselyn graduated in May 2026 with her accounting degree. She is also a former Miss OSU and OSU Pom member. ✨

We have the scoop on last week’s Grandparent University session!🍦

The School of Accounting helped young students run their own ice cream stands with their grandparents. The kids used fake money to learn about sales, costs and profit. There might be some future Spears Business students in this entrepreneurial bunch! 💵

Congratulations to the 1976 Spears Business Raymond D. Thomas Award winner Bruce Benbrook and former OSU First Cowgirl Ann Hargis on their selection to the Oklahoma Hall of Fame class of 2026. These two legends will be inducted Nov. 12.

Benbrook, from Woodward, earned his bachelor’s degree in finance from OSU. While at OSU, Benbrook served as the student body president and was named the Outstanding Male Graduate. He was also selected as the Outstanding Senior in the College of Business and received the Outstanding Greek Man award.

Benbrook has served as the chairman and CEO of Stock Exchange Bank since 1981. His extensive history of public service includes serving as chair of the OSU/A&M Board of Regents, the Oklahoma Bankers Association, and the Oklahoma Hall of Fame, as well as two terms as a State Highway Commissioner. He is also a former president of the OSU Alumni Association.

Hargis became OSU’s First Cowgirl when he husband, Burns, was named the university’s 18th president in 2008. During her tenure, she transformed the role into a platform for health and wellness, leading the America’s Healthiest Campus initiative and co-founding Pete’s Pet Posse, the nation’s most comprehensive university pet therapy program. Her service extends beyond the university through appointments by three governors to various statewide boards in education and the arts, as well as leadership within the Ann Hargis OSU Center for Pet Therapy.

"This summer I will be interning with the Accounting and the Financial Planning & Analysis teams at Raising Cane's in Plano, TX. What is most exiting about this opportunity is getting to see how FP&A and Accounting work together in such a fast-growing company. This experience will also support my goal of starting out in accounting and eventually moving into a leadership role within finance or FP&A."

Congratulations to Spears Business student Preston Stout for winning the NCAA championship in men’s golf! ⛳ 🏆
