Hi Friends!
Just wanted to let everyone know that we no longer hold Insect Adventure experiences at the old Insect Adventure building (3005 W. Virginia). We now bring the live bug petting zoo over to the Horticulture Education Center located within the OSU Botanic Garden at 3300 W. 6th St. Public Open Hours — where visitors may come and go — are each 1st & 3rd Saturday, 10am - noon, and 1st & 3rd Thursdays 1-6. Cost is unchanged at $3 per person.

spring is just around the corner (hard to believe with this weather right?!) and Target has these fun kits for $3 in their dollar section!
this is an easy and fun activity to do with the family to learn about the importance of pollinators and what we can do to help!
as you plan your gardens for the spring, try finding flowers and plants native to your area!

Mating bee flies (Bombyliidae) at the summit of Squaw Peak, Arizona.
Bee flies mimic bees as protection from predators. Adults generally feed on nectar and pollen, some being important pollinators. Larvae generally are parasitoids of other insects.

Ending this summer with our fun winged friends!
Getting a butterfly raising kit is a great way to interact closely with our ecosystem for the entire family! Especially when you’re stuck at home😉
Special thanks to Deborah McKinney for these photos!
