Congratulations to OSU math alumnus Will Davis for completing his Ph.D. in mathematics at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill! Dr. Davis earned both bachelor's and masters's degrees in math at OSU before going to UNC for his Ph.D. While he was a student at UNC, Dr. Davis worked with Dr. Olivia Dumitrescu and spent some time doing research at the Max Planck Institute of Mathematics in Bonn. Dr. Davis's thesis is on "Frobenius-like algebras, colored ribbon graphs, and extensions of TQFT."

A great profile of Gage!

Our February student spotlight is Gage Clark!

Gage is double majoring in mathematics and secondary education. Currently, Gage's main extracurriculars include being vice-president of the CAS Student Council and the Association for Women in Mathematics. Previously, he worked as a tutor at the Mathematics Learning Success Center and as a learning assistant for college algebra. He's currently completing his capstone internship experience as a student teacher at Stillwater Junior High School. After he graduates, Gage would like to use his degree to become a high school math teacher somewhere in Oklahoma.

According to Gage, his most fulfilling job is as a student leader at the OSU Center for Sovereign Nations. There, he has had unforgettable experiences, made friends, found mentors and asks us to all pay them a visit!
