As we celebrate 50 years of University Health Services, we honor leaders like Dr. Cooper who helped shape the foundation of care for generations of OSU cowboys!
Dr. Donald L. Cooper served as the director of Student Health Services from 1960 to 1990. Stepping into the role in 1960, he worked to elevate the infirmary's reputation by renaming it "University Hospital and Clinic." He later pushed for a larger, more modern facility, which ultimately led to the construction of the Student Health Center -- now recognized as University Health Services!
Dr. Cooper also served as the physician for OSU athletics, specializing in sports injury and prevention, earning national recognition in sports medicine. In 1998, he was inducted into the Oklahoma Hall of Fame in recognition of his impact on student health.
Thank you, Dr. Cooper!
