What a great start to our school year! 🍎

Last night, we held our first Parent Meeting and Curriculum Night of the year, and we had a wonderful turnout!

While our teachers spent time playing with the kiddos, our parent group elected this year’s Parent Group Officers. After the meeting, Ms. Tammy led our Curriculum Night and shared with families a little more about what we do every day at Stillwater Head Start 0–5.

Head Start is so much more than daycare. We talked about the curriculum we use, our daily classroom routines, and how much time, care, and learning goes into helping our children grow and get ready for school and beyond.

Ms. Tammy also shared such an important reminder about family involvement: Parents and caregivers are a child’s first teachers — and their favorite people! ❤️ When children see their families involved and interested in their school, it helps them feel excited, confident, and positive about learning.

Thank you to all of our parents and families who joined us last night, and thank you to our staff for making the evening possible! We are excited for a great school year together.

🌟 Starting the new school year strong! 🌟

It’s the first month of the new school year, and look at our rock stars who had **PERFECT ATTENDANCE for August!** ⭐

We’re so proud of them for showing up and ready to learn every day!

🍎 Head Start Open House Day!

Today was our Open House, and we loved welcoming our Head Start children and families back!

Our students completed their health screenings with our Family Support Advocates and UCAP Health Team, including hearing, vision, blood pressure, height, and weight checks—helping make sure our kids are healthy and ready to learn, play, and grow!

The children also got to visit their classrooms and meet their teachers. We were so happy to see some of our returning friends—we think they all grew over the summer! We’re also excited to welcome all of our new friends and families.

A big thank you to Reach Out & Read Oklahoma for joining us today and providing free books, healthy snacks, and toothbrush kits for our students!

Thank you to all the caregivers who brought their children to meet us today, and a special thank you to our teachers for completing home visits and getting their classrooms ready.

We’re ready to have everyone back in the house on Thursday, August 20! 🎉🏫

With our school starting next week, our Teachers and Family Support Advocates are busy with their final preparations to welcome back our little friends and meet our new children and families! 🥰

While some have served our children and families in other roles along the way, the numbers you see here represent their years in their current role. ❤️
