As of my research comes to an end, we do not know why statins are improving chronic kidney disease, but a lot more research needs to be done to find out. As we find out more about these drugs it can tell us specifically how they effect the kidneys. As we find the answer to this research this will make a huge impact in the future of medicine.

Patients with acute kidney injury(AKI) are taking statin to help improve with anti-inflammatory, antioxidants, and with plaque-stabilizing. According to this article they did a total of 9 meta analysis statin experiment. Out of there 9 experiments only one Huffmyer(2009) had an effect which statin decreased mortality rates. The other 8 experiments: Park(2016), Billings(2016), Zeng(2016), Wang(2015), Mithani(2011), Nemati (2015), Argalious (2010) and Virani (2010) had no effects on mortality.
Zeng (2016) was the only experiment which statin that increased the effects of AKI, while all the other decreased or had no effects of acute kidney injury(Verdoodt et al., 2018).
