Middle School of Piedmont students traveled to Enid High School to participate in Oklahoma FCCLA Competitive Events today. Our FCCLA students swept the competition, placing 1st or 2nd in every category entered! These students will move on to compete again at Regionals. Way to go, Wildcats!

Through their local Oklahoma FCCLA chapter, Foundations of Fashion & Apparel Design students at Union HS organized a crazy sock sale during Race for the Cure this year, with each sale benefitting the Susan G. Komen Foundation.
Camryn Maddoux, Oklahoma FCCLA Vice President of Parliamentary Law presented at the Governors Highway Safety Association annual meeting on the FCCLA Families Acting for Community Traffic Safety (FACTS) National Program.

The focus of this session was Rural Road Safety. Only 19% of the US population lives in rural areas, but over 80% of traffic deaths occur on rural roads.

Thank you John Marshall High School Family, Career and Community Leaders of America (FCCLA) students for your 9/11 Day of Service and Remembrance today! State Supt. Joy Hofmeister visited with students and their teacher, Chef Carrie Snyder-Renfro, as they were preparing new clothing and care items for foster children across Oklahoma at Citizens Caring for Children. We applaud these students and their work with Oklahoma FCCLA, an Oklahoma CareerTech student organization.

IT’S MEMBER MONDAY, and this week’s spotlight is all about TANNER KALLAM!!


Tanner Kallam is a senior at Oologah High School where he serves as the Northeast 1 VP of Competitive Events!! He has attended the Oklahoma FCCLA State Convention and competed in STAR events, and his favorite STAR event is Parliamentary Procedure. Tanner does much service for the Oologah community, including being a part of a committee that plans plans and facilitates a daddy-daughter dance as well as many other events at Oologah High School. Tanner’s favorite FCCLA memory is the 2023 Northeast 1 District Leadership Conference!

“Tanner has shown confidence, and he has a very strong work ethic as well as perseverance. He puts 100% or more into everything he does, he tries to make everyone feel welcome, and he truly is an all around good person!”

IT’S MEMBER MONDAY, and this week’s spotlight is all about EMILY FAULKENBERRY!!


Emily Faulkenberry is a junior at Marietta High School where she serves as Marietta’s local President and the Southeast 1 President!! She has attended many national and state conferences during her time in FCCLA, and she has competed in both STAR events and Skills Demonstration events. Her favorite STAR event is Teach or Train! Emily had started a service project providing birthday supplies to kids in her community, and she works to provide positivity to students at her elementary school.

“Emily is passionate about FCCLA and always encourages others to be more involved. Her love for FCCLA is what makes her stand out!”

IT’S MEMBER MONDAY, and this week’s spotlight is all about AIDEN CARTER!!


Aiden Carter is a junior at Stilwell High School where he serves as the Northeast 5 VP of Public Relations!! He has helped lead the Hunt for the Cure charity egg hunt, which raised over $3,000 for the cystic fibrosis foundation and gave away prizes to local children. Aiden’s favorite STAR event is Promote and Publicize, and his favorite FCCLA memory is DOT (district officer training) camp and Stilwell’s canned food drive!

“Aiden exemplifies the spotlight leader skill. He is kind to all and no matter what he does it is done with a smile on his face.”

IT’S MEMBER MONDAY, and this week’s spotlight is all about SUMMER WILSON!!


Summer Wilson is a junior at Latta High School where she serves as the Southeast 3 district president!! She’s competed in a multitude of STAR events as well as holding chapter and district officer positions, and has attended conferences both in and out of state. Summer has served her community by volunteering at local food shelters, helping with back to school and Christmas drives, volunteering with the Salvation Army, and doing many other projects in her school! Her favorite STAR event is Repurpose and Redesign, and her favorite FCCLA memory is traveling to San Diego, California with her best friends!

“Summer is a kind, selfless, courageous person. She will always do her best to make someone else smile! To know her is to love her. She is a light in a shining room and will forever shine lights on everyone else to make them feel included and loved!”

IT’S MEMBER MONDAY, and this week’s spotlight is all about TENNYSON ELROD!!


Tennyson Elrod is a sophomore at Wright City High School where he serves as the president for his chapter and the Southeast 5 vice president of membership!! Tennyson’s chapter has organized Adopt-an-Angel for the past two years, providing Christmas gifts to around 80 children. Tennyson’s favorite STAR event is Entrepreneurship, and his favorite FCCLA memory is placing 2nd at the National Leadership Conference!

The Pearl House, our international outreach community service project, is hosting the Giving Hope a Home Virtual 5k on September 23rd! It is $25 to participate, and all proceeds will go towards building volleyball and soccer nets for the Haven. There will be prizes for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place winners, an exclusive video from the pearls, and even a shirt discount code! We hope YOU will join as we work to Give Hope a Home and further the mission of The Haven- to provide shelter, counseling and trauma informed care to promote healing, mental health, and spiritual growth!
