Spring 2024 Niblack Scholars complete their research - Oklahoma State University 05/15/2024

For three semesters, Niblack Research Scholars dedicate their time to academic experiences outside the traditional classroom by conducting research in one of Oklahoma State University’s laboratories.

These undergraduate students receive funding that allows them to pursue research that interests them and pays for a mentor to help along the way. Students work two to five hours per week with their mentors in hands-on laboratory environments during fall and spring semesters as well as 20 hours per minimum per week in the summer.

This spring, seven scholars completed their research and are preparing to present their findings to Dr. John Niblack in October.

🤝 NASA - National Aeronautics and Space Administration National Eclipse Balloon Program.

OSU was part of 50 teams across the U.S. in the NASA eclipse program, collecting data based on gravity wave disturbances for improvements in weather forecasting.

A rare opportunity: OAIRE researchers use eclipse to gather atmospheric data - Oklahoma State University Oklahoma State University’s Oklahoma Aerospace Institute for Research and Education used the 2024 total solar eclipse path as an opportunity to improve weather forecasting.
