I recently spoke with Reuters about some of the challenges Oklahoma and Southern Great Plains producers have been facing this season.
Between drought, high input costs, and difficult weather conditions, this has been a tough year for many operations.
Here’s the article if you’d like to read it:

⚠A quick update: the May 22 wheat plot tour in Miami has been canceled due to the heavy rainfall we've received over the past hours — a problem Oklahoma rarely complains about.
This also marks the close of the 2026 wheat plot tour season across the state. Every handshake, field-side chat, and "well, I hope we get rain" conversation meant a lot.
To Oklahoma's wheat producers — thank you for your continued support, especially in a season that hasn't been easy.
Here's hoping the skies cooperate from here on out so we can get this crop in the bin. Best of luck out there!
