Great news! Dog Tag received a $75,000 grant from the U.S. Small Business Administration's Service-Disabled Veteran Entrepreneurship Training Program (SDVETP).

β€œService-disabled veteran small business owners bring a unique and valued skill set to entrepreneurship,” says SBA Acting Administrator, Chris Pilkerton, β€œFunding these organizations involved in helping service-disabled veterans establish successful businesses will go a long way toward securing the future for these veterans and their families.”

Congratulations also to our fellow grant recipients - Veterans Entrepreneurship Program; Institute for Veterans and Military Families - IVMF; and the Entrepreneurship Bootcamp for Veterans with Disabilities (EBV) at Saint Joseph's University

Did you know it's proven that being in nature can help spark creativity? This exciting announcement by the National Parks Service means that it will be easier than ever for veterans and their families to enjoy more time outdoors in this great country.

Who know, maybe you'll find the inspiration for your next business 🌲🌸🌡🌺

To commemorate Veterans Day and honor those who have served in the military, National Park Service entrance fees will be waived for ALL visitors on November 11. Secretary of the Interior David Bernhardt previously announced that beginning on Veterans Day, Gold Star Families and U.S. military veterans will be granted free access to more than 2,000 federal recreation areas into perpetuity. These areas include our magnificent national parks, wildlife refuges, forests and other lands and waters managed by the U.S. Department of the Interior, U.S. Forest Service, and U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Headquarters.

Quarantine Query Series

How have our delegates been handling the coronavirus shutdown?

Our next interview is with Grayson Stalvey, founder of Grayson Stalvey Financial Coaching.

"Grayson Stalvey Financial Coaching guides young families through simple, actionable steps to get from financial frustration to financial freedom. I help you get clear on what really matters to you in life and teach you how to put your money toward those things. I help you come up with a plan to get from where you are now to where you want to be, then walk that path with you as an accountability partner and guide."

How has the coronavirus impacted your business?

"The biggest impact has been the switch to 100% virtual meetings. Prior to everything shutting down we were already at around 90% virtual sessions, but quarantine and stay home orders pushed us to 100% virtual."

How are you making the best of this situation?

"This has been an unprecedented time for everyone. There has been a ton of financial uncertainty, and much of that uncertainty still exists. We've been doing a lot of work in the community, including holding free webinars on how to budget and pay off debt, creating free disaster preparedness resources, and partnering with local organizations to address the racial economic gap in our society.
We've also got a new offering coming up that I'm really excited about! It's a group coaching program for teens ages 14-18. It uses a combination of video game-based lessons and virtual group coaching sessions to teach the basics of personal finances to teens...it's all the stuff we wish we had learned in high school before going out into the real world!"

How can we support you through this?

"I'd love it if you'd follow me on instagram and facebook, and share those pages with your friends! The biggest challenge is getting more people aware of what financial coaching is. I had never heard of a financial coach when I was on my debt free journey, but I wish I had!"
