Experiences from 4-H VCOSS. A. Brown, Grady County. "I loved that I was able to connect with others, get new ideas, and learn new ways to teach. I also learned as a presenter I don’t have to know the whole workshop, and it’s okay to have notecards and references to look at. I also learned there are times when science and 4-H experiences work and fail, but that is all part of the 4-H experiential learning model.

I'm feeling inspired from this experience and ready to return to share and teach what I gained from conference with my clubs, county, and district."

Experiences from 4-H VCOSS. B. Roberts, Delaware County. "As volunteers, we ask our 4-H'ers to step out of their comfort zone, make new friends, and try new things. We send them to camp, Roundup, and conferences. VCOSS is a volunteers opportunity to do all the things we encourage the kids to do. This is my fourth year representing Oklahoma and I love it! I've made good friends from other states, learned how each state does 4-H differently, and even taught a workshop or two!

I am so very thankful that the OK 4-H foundation is so supportive of the volunteers in our state and provide funding for this conference. I hope to see you next year in Georgia!"

Experiences from 4-H VCOSS. A. Young, Grady County.
"Attending 4-H VCOSS for the first time has been so refreshing. Meet people from other states with the same passion of igniting a spark in our youth. It was so encouraging to share idea, laughter and stories with fellow volunteers.. I am refreshed and ready to get back and share new ideas with my club and fellow volunteers."

Experiences from 4-H VCOSS. N. Black, Pontotoc County. "I absolutely love the opportunity to get to network with people from different states. Learning how our programs are alike and different provides me with new ideas to better project areas and my club. Each time I attend VCOSS there are so many things to bringing back to my community and club."

10/07/2024

Experiences from 4-H VCOSS. S. Bellew, Beaver County. There is nothing like a conference to remind you why you love 4-H! As hard as it was to decide which workshops to attend, it will be even harder to decide which new activity to introduce at home! I explored new projects, learned new skills, and was able to connect with leaders from so many states!

Attending conferences can be the spark a volunteer needs! Attend your District Conference! Attend our State Parent-Volunteer Conference and consider attending the Volunteer Conference of Southern States!"

10/07/2024

Experiences from 4-H VCOSS - L. Stubbs, Cleveland County. "This conference serves as a refresh or reset for the next year. It always re-energizes me and I leave in a better place for myself and my 4-H members. This year I learned everyone has an inner artist." Workshop - Igniting your Passion through Sculpture.

10/05/2024

Grady County, S. Evans says, "I would encourage every 4-H volunteer to attend the Volunteer Conference of Southern States. It was refreshing and I learned so much!

I can’t wait to implement some of the new ideas I learned at VCOSS-2024. I will come home with new service learning ideas, project ideas and leadership lessons for my teens!"
