Our 2023 PhilanthroPete campaign supporting GEO-REx has ended, and we would like to express our gratitude for the support of our project. In addition to the numerous donations of alumni and friends of BPSoG, we also received a generous grant from the Oklahoma Geological Foundation towards our GEO-REx summer program. Because of this generosity, we will be able to continue to offer the GEO-REx summer program, which enriches the geology experience of students (current and prospective), within BPSoG. Through the GEO-REx program, we are working towards attracting more students into the geosciences by removing barriers and providing hands-on learning opportunities. We couldn't have done this program without your support. Thank you and go pokes!🤠

Geophysical and Geochemical Pilot Study to Characterize the Dam Foundation Rock and Source of Seepage in Part of Pensacola Dam in Oklahoma Pensacola Dam, operated by the Grand River Dam Authority (GRDA), is a multiple-arch buttress dam constructed in 1940. The dam has little or no existing geophysical reports on the integrity of the dam foundation rock and even less knowledge at depth. Visual inspection indicated evidence of seepage at...

A fantastic Rocks & Minerals field trip this past weekend to the Arbuckles, Ouachitas, and the Hot Springs/Magnet Cove area of Arkansas! Beautiful weather and even more impressive rocks of all types were encountered, but after the MANY outcrops of Arkansas novaculite we studied, we named our official trip mascot “Novac.”
