Students in Family, School, and Community learn put together a Family Fun Night for the CDL.

Congratulations Anya Thompson, a Nutritional Science, Pre-Med student with a minor in Human Development and Family Science! Anya presented her research poster at the Annual Gerontological Society of America in Seattle this Wednesday!

Dr. Alex Bishop said, "Anya did a great job, and is having a wonderful time learning about the field of gerontology-geriatrics, as well as networking with professionals in the field. I would encourage any students majoring or minoring in HDFS to consider engaging and presenting research nationally. This is a great opportunity for them to learn more about what various fields have to offer relative to graduate training, professional careers, or general knowledge about human aging. Anya was one of a handful of undergraduates selected to present at GSA, an organization which really encourages emerging scholars at all levels to participate in order to help build the next generation of aging scientists and professionals."

Madi Gunkel, Westwood kindergarten teacher and HDFS ECE alumni, was awarded the Family Engagement Award! Madi was awarded a class set of Family Literacy BAGS! She was also given the opportunity to speak to Early Childhood teacher candidates at the Early Childhood Education Club on Tuesday night with her presentation titled “Communication and Collaboration!” Madi is not only a hard working teacher for her kindergarten students, she serves as a cooperating teacher for Early Childhood teacher candidates! Congratulations, Madi Gunkel!

Cleo L. Craig Child Development Lab Centennial recognized during OSU football game - Oklahoma State University On Saturday, Sept. 21, the Oklahoma State University College of Education and Human Sciences celebrated the Centennial of the Cleo L. Craig Child Development Lab during a special on-field recognition at the OSU-Utah football game.

Last week, Dr. Bishop had the pleasure to meet with one of our remaining centenarians from the Oklahoma 100 Year Life Project, an oral history study we have been conducting since 2013. This is one of three living survivors who have made it to 110 years old, also known as a "supercentenarian." She has maintained a strong connection to family and is a true example of exceptional human development!
