Why did Russia fail to become a democracy after the Soviet Union collapsed— and why does that history still matter today? In POLS 3123: Russian and Eurasian Politics, explore how empires rise and fall, whether democracy can take root in the post-Soviet world, and what the region's turbulent history means for global politics right now.
