✨ Learn to loom! Join us Saturday, May 30th for a beginner bead weaving class with the incredibly talented Courtney Lynn Kelly. You'll use a loom, thread, and iridescent seed beads to create a stunning bracelet with leather ends and a silver button closure — and walk away with skills (and bling) to show for it. Fair warning: this class is all about the tiny details, so bring your patience and your best close-up vision 🔍 Spots are limited!

Prairie Arts Center would like to honor and say goodbye to Buck Dollarhide, one of our very first and most beloved instructors. Buck was a force. He was here at Prairie’s inception and his calm, resolute trust and generosity in the face of change helped bring our thriving, humming, joyful ceramics studio into being. It was hard not to love being in Buck’s orbit. He was as generous a talker as he was a teacher. He could answer any gardening question you had, tell stories as long as you had to listen, and if you really wanted to light him up, you could ask him about crepe myrtles or the chemistry of the kiln and clay. If there was no one to talk to, Buck was content to make conversation with creation- wedge, wedge some more, throw, sand, sand again, glaze. His work was meticulous, his forms perfection, and his bowls renowned! Buck, we love you and miss you and hope there is clay in heaven 💗 To his wife, children, grandchildren and to all those countless others who cherished him, we extend our deepest sympathy. 💐
