Due to inclement weather conditions, Stillwater Public Schools will start one hour late on Monday, November 18, 2024. All bus stops will run (and staff should report) one hour later than regularly schedule. Schools will release at their usual time.

SPS Families and Staff,

We are monitoring the potential for severe weather overnight and through Monday. Stillwater is currently in a Flood Watch and Wind Advisory until 3pm Monday, and the potential for more severe warnings and watches exists.

Early Monday morning (5am-9am) is particularly concerning and may create a situation similar to what we saw a few weeks ago, when a Tornado Warning was issued during morning bus routes.

After 9am, a slight/marginal risk of severe weather is projected to exist throughout Monday with the possibility of 60-80mph winds, quarter sized hail, and low potential for tornadoes. Stillwater will also see periods of intense rainfall and may experience flooding in low-lying areas, particularly as the ground is still saturated from recent rains.

In summary, conditions may dictate a delayed start, cancellation, or other adjustment to Monday's school day, so please be prepared to monitor your email, text alerts (if you have opted in to those), Facebook, StillwaterSchools.com and/or news channels for updates. Oklahoma weather can be unpredictable, so we are waiting to make a determination until closer to the start of school Monday morning.

Please know, any decision to alter or cancel a school day is never taken lightly, and we consider the best information available to us from safety officials. Rest assured that we are making decisions with the safety of our students in mind.
