Move-in day will be here before you know it. Log in to the OSU Housing Portal and select your move-in appointment time to help make your arrival as smooth as possible.

Schedule your appointment today and check one more item off your move-in checklist.

Move-in tip No. 3: Move the big stuff first.

Make moving in easier by placing rugs on the floor before bringing in other items. Plugging in your refrigerator early gives it time to get cold, so it’s ready when you need it. Increased movement in the dorms may cause temperatures to rise; to combat this, bring a fan to make the experience more comfortable.

Join Desk Services!

OSU Housing and Residential Life is currently hiring for Desk Services. Great opportunity for incoming first-year students. As a desk assistant, you will be the first point of contact for residents; you will assist with lost keys, maintenance requests, mail and packages, etc.

Move-in tip No. 2: Keep an eye out for signs. While moving in, signs will be posted to inform you about updated pathways, check-in areas and what to do next. Follow the information on the signs to make your move-in day as smooth as possible.

Do you have your room assignment for Fall 2026 but want to live somewhere else? Log in to the OSU Housing Portal for room swap and waitlist options, which open June 1 through July 15.

Room-swap option: When two students agree to swap rooms.
Waitlist option: Requesting a room in a different housing style.
