We are excited to feature Kinsley Fitzsimons, a first-year nursing student during .

As early as she could remember, Kinsley wanted to become a nurse. With a profound passion for helping people and a desire to work in healthcare, she made her way to Stillwater and joined the inaugural nursing class at .

Learn more about Kinsley below.

Q: What excites you about being a nurse?

A: The nursing profession excites me because every day can look different from the last. I love that I have the opportunity to meet new people and work on new challenges. I am excited to join a career that encourages and facilitates growth and change.

Q: How do you hope to make an impact as a nurse?

A: As a nurse, I hope to be a source of positivity and comfort for my patients. If a person is seeking healthcare, they likely are not feeling their best, so if I can bring even a small amount of positivity to a stressful situation, I would feel successful in my role.

Q: What's been the most rewarding aspect of being part of the first nursing class at OSU?

A: The OSU faculty and community have been integral to my success through this first year in the nursing program. From my first day at orientation, I have felt nothing but welcomed and supported. I am so grateful to all the professors and staff in the nursing program for guiding me through this journey.
