#23 on the American Society of Agricultural and Biological Engineers (ASABE) ASABE Landmark's list - the vegetated waterways at Lake Carl Blackwell.
Concepts developed at the Lake Carl Blackwell site for vegetation-lined waterways to safely convey rainfall runoff water from millions of acres can be seen in the extensive use of vegetated waterways on farms, adjoining highways, and in other spaces.

Summertime blues are setting in. Somehow, it's already been one whole month since graduation and since the end of the academic year. While many of our undergraduate students are busy at their internships and summer jobs or on study abroad adventures, back here on campus, we're looking back one more time before we get ready for next year to begin!

It's not summer in Oklahoma without logging some wheat pasture hours, especially during the most recent field day in Lahoma. Class of 2026 Biosystems Engineering graduate, Eli Reynolds, demonstrated a phenotyping rover produced in the BAE lab this past year. Dr. Ning Wang instructed and worked with BAE research students Eli Reynolds and Brady Holzapfel to develop a solar-powered and remotely controlled cart to support collaborative research being done with Dr. Amanda De Oliveira Silva in the Department of Plant and Soil Sciences. The rover is equipped with instruments and sensors to quantify phenotypes of wheat (physical expressions of the genotype or genetics). We're excited to see this interdepartmental collaboration rolling through amber waves and progressing wheat research.
