Shoutout to the SVHS Band students who played our school’s fight songs at the end of the school day in the MP Room yesterday! 🎉🎺
This fun tradition helps hype up our students as they leave on home football game days. 🏈🎶
Thanks to Mrs. Showers for the photo, and to our student leaders for organizing the performance all by themselves while Mr. Gelasi was at the middle school 👏🏻

Nice job tonight, Band! It was a great first outing despite a “feels-like” temp in the high 90s as soon as we entered the stadium 😳
Thank you all! Enjoy the long weekend 🏈🎶

RIP to the iconic, talented, musician and humanitarian, Dolly Parton ♥️🎶
A band kid who went on to help fund band programs in need later in life 🎺

We were saddened to hear of the passing of Dolly Parton today. Everyone knows of her musical talents and philanthropy. However, less people know that she was a percussionist and majorette in her Sevier County High School Band in Sevierville, Tennessee. Fewer know that she quietly funded numerous band programs over the years purchasing uniforms and instruments for not only her alma mater, but underfunded programs in lower socioeconomic schools. This was done anonymously for many years until it was discovered and reported on in 2022. While certainly an amazing musician, she is beloved because she was an even better person.

NO BAND AT FOOTBALL TONIGHT - after consulting with Heather Alderks and learning of local school calling off their games due to weather, and for us to have a delayed start potentially as late as 8 pm, not to mention the threat of rain and storms for our students / expensive instruments , we have decided to not have band perform tonight. We are sorry for the late notice, but look forward to giving our band even more time to perfect and regrade more music for the next home game ♥️🎶
Have a great weekend all
