NO BAND AT FOOTBALL TONIGHT - after consulting with Heather Alderks and learning of local school calling off their games due to weather, and for us to have a delayed start potentially as late as 8 pm, not to mention the threat of rain and storms for our students / expensive instruments , we have decided to not have band perform tonight. We are sorry for the late notice, but look forward to giving our band even more time to perfect and regrade more music for the next home game ♥️🎶

Cardinal Night 2026 🥁
As always, it’s always great to see how many of our SVHS Band students participate in other fall sports and activities- the band contains not only talented musicians, but varsity football players, golfers, swimmers, cross country runners, and more.
You CAN do sports and band!!! 🎉🎶

It was a great start to the first day of school with 1st period SVHS band! Good job to all, especially the freshmen, who powered through an 8 AM, 93-minute 1st high school band class rehearsal!
CARDINAL NIGHT IS FRIDAY! 🎉 call time is 4:45 in the band room; the event starts on the SVHS football field at 5:30, where all fall athletics and activities, including band, will be recognized 🥁🎶

The 2026 SVHS Fall Play will be... "CLUE"!

Synopsis: "It’s a dark and stormy night, and we’ve been invited to a very unusual dinner party. Each of the guests has an alias, the butler offers a variety of weapons, and the host is, well, dead. So whodunit? Join the iconic oddballs known as Scarlet, Plum, White, Green, Peacock, and Mustard as they race to find the murderer in Boddy Manor before the body count stacks up. Based on the cult classic film and the popular board game, Clue is a madcap comedy that will keep the audience guessing until the final twist."

INFO MEETING FOR ALL INTERESTED STUDENTS: Tuesday, August 18th @ 7:30 AM in the SVHS Music Room.

SHOW DATES: November 6th and 7th, 2026 @ 7 PM and November 8th, 2026 @ 2 PM.

SVHS Band Camp 2026 comes to a close 🎶

It was an amazing week- so much early progress was made! Thank you to all who attended / brought food for our end-of-Camp family potluck and informance ♥️🎺🥁

Congratulations to our 2026 Top Section winners: THE LOW TEAM! 🎉

Also, we forgot to announce our final Rookie of the Day at the performance: congratulations Jovie M in the flute section! 🎉

Another great SVHS Band Camp day in the books!
A delicious dinner catered by Royal Blue, further progress in music, marching, and drill, and successfully marching and playing at the same time!

It was another fantastic and PACKED day of SVHS Band Camp! We got farther in our music, marched a complete drill formation for the first time, got outside to play on the field, and played a few team-building games ⛺️🎶🎺
Thank you Wayside Tavern for the delicious sloppy Joe dinner and to all the families who also donated snacks and drinks for the week! 🥳🥁

Thank you Caroline M for organizing our dinners this week- today’s pasta dinner from Stockholm Inn was wonderful (as well as tacos from Wooden Nickel last night)! 🍝
Congratulations to our Rookie of the Day: Kaydin H in the Low Team! 👏🏻🎶
Excellent work to all students- our progress from yesterday to today was very noticeable 🥳🥁

New this year for SVHS Band Camp, we introduced our daily “Rookie Cookie”- the Band Leadership Team convenes toward the end of Camp each day to select an outstanding Freshman Band student who displayed notable excellence in music and marching during the day. The winner is recognized and awarded a cookie 🍪🎶♥️
Today’s Rookie was Lily F. in the Flute Section- congrats! 🥳🎶
