The Lakeshore Excellence Foundation is deeply grateful to the Whirlpool Community Charity Golf Event for an extraordinary contribution in support of our mission.

This generous gift will help LEF continue investing in meaningful programs, innovative learning opportunities and transformative projects throughout Lakeshore Public Schools. Its impact will be felt in our classrooms - and in the lives of our students and staff - for years to come.

Career and Technical Education opens doors for students to discover meaningful, in-demand careers - and helps strengthen the future of our local workforce.

Through support from the Lakeshore Excellence Foundation, Lakeshore High School, Stevensville, Michigan students have access to modern equipment, hands-on training and real-world learning opportunities in programs such as welding. These experiences are helping students build valuable skills, connect with local employers and explore career paths that extend beyond the traditional four-year college route.

Mike Schmidt shares how LEF-funded equipment and community partnerships are expanding opportunities for Lakeshore students - and highlights graduates who have turned their CTE experience into successful careers.

Celebrating 25 years of Art Around Town! 🎨

In mid-May, the Lakeshore Excellence Foundation proudly recognized the creative talent of Lakeshore Public Schools students in grades K–12 through this beloved annual event. Congratulations to all of the students whose hard work, imagination, and artistic skill were on display!

The winning works will be exhibited at the Curious Kids' Museum this summer before moving into their new homes with the local businesses that sponsored each piece. The artwork will remain on display there for the rest of the year before being returned to the students.

A heartfelt thank you to Jill Phenegar and Lauren Roberto for their dedication to this important project and for helping shine a spotlight on these talented young artists.

We welcomed our soon-to-be alumni with a small parting gift this morning as they entered Al Stockman Stadium for graduation rehearsal. Each of the class of 2026 Seniors was given one of these stainless steel tumblers as our way of saying "Congratulations" on all of their hard work!

We also gave them a chance to sign up to be part of the Lakeshore Alumni Association, so they can be informed on all the wonderful events Lakeshore puts on years down the road.

Have a great last day Seniors! We'll be watching you walk for real, tomorrow, at Al Stockman Stadium, as you bid your final farewell to Lakeshore. We at the LEF would like to wish all our Seniors the very best on their graduation day - and a very successful future!

"🎨 Creativity in motion at Lakeshore High School - which Senior will be next?

Last May, an incredible group of graduating seniors competed for the $10,000 “Brian D. Siewert Artist In Motion” Scholarship - bringing talents in music, fashion, visual arts, choreography, and theater to the stage.

📸 Congratulations to winner Amri Kuhn, a gifted photographer who turned her passion into a thriving portrait business while still in high school. From weddings to senior portraits, Amri has already built both her artistic voice and entrepreneurial skills. She’s now continuing her journey at Western Michigan University, studying digital marketing and photography.

✨ Artist In Motion’s impact continues beyond graduation. Just look at 2022 winner Madalyn Rockwell, who transformed her creative passion into a dual degree in English and Political Science, with law school ahead—proving that art can shape any path, even policy.
