Lancers of the Month

Each year, we honor seniors who exemplify what it means to be a Lancer: students who are focused on their academics, involved in their school community, and committed to living the SHORE Values. Congratulations to our first recipients of the year, Emma Allan and Terry Powell. Both are truly deserving of this honor.

Emma is highly involved at LHS through the Math & Science Center, National Honor Society, HOSA, Science Olympiad, Student Voice, and Mental Health Awareness Club. She also serves as Key Club bulletin editor and student director of the variety show, participates in varsity track & field, and is involved with the football manager program.

Terry is actively involved at LHS as Drum Major for the State Championship Marching Band, Senior Class Vice President, Secretary of Student Council, Vice President of Finance for DECA, and a varsity football player. His involvement spans leadership, music, athletics, and student organizations.

A Little Rain Couldn’t Dampen Our First-Day Excitement!

The rain may have been falling outside, but inside our buildings, there was a buzz of excitement as students and staff kicked off a brand-new school year!

At Lakeshore High School, student helpers were stationed throughout the building, ready to greet classmates, answer questions, and help everyone find their way. What a wonderful example of our students looking out for one another!

Some of our elementary students got a lesson in indoor recess routines—because rainy days are part of the school experience, too!

Throughout the district, teachers were excited to welcome back familiar faces, reconnect with former students, and fill our hallways with smiles and energy once again.

There were new beginnings, familiar faces, a few “Where am I supposed to go?” moments, and plenty of excitement for the year ahead.

A productive afternoon at Lakeshore Public Schools! Our staff spent the afternoon in professional development focused on student progress and achievement. We’re ready to welcome our students back and kick off the 2026-27 school year on Monday, August 31!

This morning at our official district kickoff, we had the privilege of recognizing our longstanding employees for their years of service to Lakeshore Public Schools!

These dedicated staff members have given so much of their time, talent, and heart to our students and our district. We are incredibly grateful for their commitment and the difference they make every day.

Thanks to the generous support of the Lakeshore Excellence Foundation, we were able to show our appreciation for these outstanding employees and celebrate their years of service.

Thank you for being part of the Lakeshore family and for all you do!

What a great kickoff to the 2026–2027 school year! Members of Lakeshore High School’s Student Voice organization joined us at this morning’s district-wide staff meeting and shared their thoughts and experiences with our staff.

It was a great opportunity to hear directly from our students and be reminded of the impact we have on them every day. The connections we make, the support we give, and the way we show up for our students truly matter. We’re so glad our students were part of the morning!
