Our first- and second-year Master of Athletic Training students participated in today's UWSP EMS Day. It was an incredible opportunity to learn, collaborate, and strengthen the skills that help us provide the best possible care for our athletes and communities.
We would like to extend our sincere appreciation to the Amherst EMS first responders, especially Assistant Chief of the Amherst Fire District, Adam Meshak. We would also like to thank Jodi Waltenburg, Amherst high schools Athletic Trainer, and Dr. Kustka an Emergency Department Physician, for sharing their expertise and helping make this experience so valuable. Furthermore, we would like to extend our appreciation to the certified athletic trainers from area clinics and high schools who helped us all learn and practice emergency skills.

Congrats to UW-Stevens Point Alumni Cassandra Salmen on being a part of the UW-Stevens Point Athletics 2026 Hall of Fame class!

The UW-Stevens Point athletics department recently announced the 2026 Hall of Fame class, which includes Marshfield Clinic athletic trainer Cassandra Salmen! Cass played women's hockey from 2010-2014.

A first-team All-American in 2014, Salmen became just the eighth All-America selection in program history. She led the WIAC in goals (18), tied for 10th in the country, and earned the inaugural WIAC Player of the Year honor that season. Her conference-best five game-winning goals helped UWSP return to the NCAA Tournament in 2014. She led the Pointers in scoring both her junior and senior seasons. Salmen was named to the NCHA All-Academic team in 2013 and earned a UWSP Chancellor's Leadership Award in 2014. She is currently an athletic trainer for UWSP.

The 2026 Hall of Fame induction ceremony will be held on Friday, October 9, in the Laird Room at the Dreyfus University Center. The inductees will also be recognized at halftime of the Homecoming game on Oct. 10 versus UW-Stout.

Please join us in congratulating Cassandra!
