That’s a wrap on National School Lunch Week!

A HUGE thank you to our incredible school lunch staff for all their hard work making this week so special, delicious, and fun for our students! We couldn’t do it without you. ❤️

Our team is currently sorting through all the photos of our Lucky Tray Prize Winners! Be sure to check back with us on Monday to see who had all the lunchtime luck this week and took home a prize.

Have a wonderful weekend, everyone!

We have some big-time Milwaukee Brewers fans on our Food Service team, and to say they were excited today would be a massive understatement! After last night’s thrilling 4-0 sweep over the Dodgers, Milwaukee is officially heading to the World Series for the first time since 1982! 🏆 🔥

A massive THANK YOU to our incredible manager for letting us show off our team spirit today and wear our favorite Brewers gear to work. We love working for a team that supports our passions—and our favorite baseball team! 💙

✨🎩 We’re wrapping up National School Lunch Week with a magic trick! 🎩✨

For our final trick, we’re pulling hot, tasty corndogs out of a hat!
..Just kidding! 😆 We're actually pulling them hot and fresh out of the oven to serve to our students today.

National School Lunch Week may be coming to a close, but the fun never stops. Running our elementary cafeterias is a lot like managing a daily circus—there's high-energy excitement, endless motion, and plenty of happy crowd reactions! Through all the action, our mission stays the same: serving nutritious, delicious meals our students love while making lunchtime an absolute joy.

Thank you to everyone who joined in on the celebration this week!

🍿 It’s National School Lunch Week! 🍿

It has been a wonderfully busy week in our elementary cafeterias, and we’re getting ready to catch up with a few upcoming posts to show you how all the fun has been progressing!

Today, we served another huge student favorite: popcorn chicken with mashed potatoes and gravy! It might not be the same as circus popcorn, but it meets all USDA nutrition guidelines and gives our students the fuel they need to stay energized all afternoon.

Corndogs are on the menu tomorrow, so remind your students eat school lunch with us.

Keep an eye on our page for more posts and photos coming soon!

Happy National Gumbo Day!

Today we are celebrating one of the most flavorful dishes in American culinary history. Originating in Louisiana in the early 18th century, gumbo is a true melting pot of cultures—combining West African, French, Spanish, and Native American traditions. The name itself comes from the West African word for okra (ki ngombo), while the technique of using a rich roux comes from French cuisine, and filé powder comes from Choctaw tradition.

To mark the occasion, our incredible kitchen crew at SPASH prepared fresh, homemade gumbo for our high school students today! It is a fantastic way to enjoy a classic comfort food and give our students a taste of a rich cultural tradition right in the cafeteria.

Doesn't it look amazing? Make sure to ask your high schoolers how they enjoyed their gumbo today!

‼️ Big news! Today kicks off National School Lunch Week, and we are starting things off with a crowd-pleasing classic that our elementary students absolutely love: delicious Portesi cheese fries made with a whole grain crust and paired with warm marinara dipping sauce!

To celebrate, our elementary cafeterias have transformed under the big top! 🎪 Students will step into lunchrooms filled with vibrant circus banners and festive decorations. We also have fun circus-themed coloring and activity pages ready to keep them entertained while teaching them all about building healthy eating habits.

National School Lunch Week is all about getting students excited to eat lunch at school and inspiring them to embrace healthy habits for life. Parents, encourage your kiddos to join in the fun in the cafeteria this week and fuel up for a great day of learning!

Step right up! Next week is National School Lunch Week, and we are happy to celebrate with this year’s theme: Cafeteria Circus!

Parents, encourage your students to join in by enjoying a nutritious school lunch every day next week. Eating a balanced meal gives kids the healthy energy they need to stay focused, play, and learn throughout the afternoon.

To make the week a bit extra special, elementary students can look forward to coloring pages, activity pages, and lucky tray prizes during lunchtime. It’s a great week to highlight healthy eating, so make sure your child stops by the cafeteria to join in the fun.

Our students ❤ pancakes so much that we occasionally serve them for lunch, Recently, one student was so excited he even wore a pancake shirt to school to match the menu. If our lunch team could choose a "Best Dressed" student, this kiddo would win hands down!

Did you know: The pancakes we serve in our schools are whole grain-rich to keep our students healthy, satisfied, and full of energy for learning and growing! When paired with fruits, vegetables, protein, and low-fat dairy, you get a nutritious meal that satisfies USDA guidelines for a balanced diet—and it makes for a colorful tray, too! 🍎🍐🥕

🎃 👻 Spooktacular News from the Cafeteria! 🥦 🦇

October is officially here, and Ms. Jenny at Bannach Elementary is getting us into the Halloween spirit with a festive new poster: "Don't Be Afraid of Veggies!"

Eating your greens (and oranges and purples!) doesn't have to be scary. From monster crunch carrots to vampire-repelling broccoli, our students are learning that vegetables are a treat, not a trick! 🥕👻

A big thank you to Ms. Jenny for making healthy eating fun, creative, and just a little bit spooky this autumn.
