🗣️ Faculty from the Department of Biology, Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry, and Soil and Waste Resources, along with five undergraduate co-authors and two UW-Madison plant sciences collaborators, have a new article published in the current edition of "Science of the Total Environment."

The article is called, “Assessing PFAS uptake in h**p and alfalfa using congener-resolved analyses and soil quality measurements.”

The research team included professors of biology, Ann Impullitti and Brian Barringer, and professors of chemistry, Joseph Mondloch and Shannon Riha, in addition to Bryant Scharenbroch from Soil and Waste Resources (UWSP College of Natural Resources ). https://authors.elsevier.com/a/1nsBuB8cd7wAW

UWSP students and community members gathered for Scholars of Screams, a film event in collaboration with Rogers Cinema Stevens Point. Shanny Luft, associate professor of religious studies, presented cultural context for the 1973 film ahead of the screening of The Exorcist last night.

In honor of Disability Awareness Month, the UWSP Disability Advocacy Council hosted a viewing of the movie Crip Camp on Tuesday open to students, staff and faculty. Crip Camp: A Disability Revolution tells the story of extraordinary individuals who paved the way for five decades of advocacy for disability rights.

Thanks to Associate Professor Rachel Craig, Au.D., and Associate Professor Kate Kipp from UWSP Department of Sociology & Social Work (front row), who are co-chairs of the Disability Advocacy Council and are wonderful advocates for all Pointers!

Mikayla Nocchi is a hard-working senior prepared to graduate this spring with three degrees. She is now immersed in meaningful work for her practicum in social work.
