We provide WELS Campus Ministry at the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point. We meet for food, fellowship, and faith every Thursday night 6:30-8:00PM!

All are welcome to join us! The UWSP WELS Collegians or "The Real Thirsty Thursdays" is a Wisconsin Evangelical Lutheran Synod (WELS) campus ministry group based out of the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point, but also serving surrounding college students, such as Mid-State Technical College (MSTC). Since becoming an official on-campus organization in Spring 2013, we have been meeting every Thursday evening at 7:30pm. After we enjoy a home cooked meal and fellowship, we have bible study from around 8:00pm to 9:00pm. Even though we are a student-run organization, Pastor Scott Wolfram and Staff Minister Jerry Worden lead our weekly meetings. They prepare bible studies based off of the students’ topic requests. MEAL/FELLOWSHIP: 7:30-8:00PM
BIBLE STUDY: 8:00-9:00PM

We are affiliated with the WELS church, Divine Word, in Plover, WI, however, The Word is a new branch of the church, located in Stevens Point, WI. This building was created more specifically for Campus Ministry. We were blessed to open this location in January 2017! Divine Word Lutheran Church

Heavenly Father, thank you for carrying my burdens. Forgive me for the times when I try to carry everything on my own instead of trusting your care. You know all my troubles and the weight that can feel overwhelming. By your Spirit, teach me to release my worries, fears, and struggles into your hands. Sustain me with your strength and remind me that you never let your children fall. Help me walk today with a heart anchored in Christ and a spirit resting in your promises. In Jesus’ name. Amen.

Heavenly Father, thank you for showing mercy to me in all my doubts and weaknesses. Forgive me for the times when I am impatient or unkind toward those who struggle. Help me have a heart for those who doubt. Help me create safe places where honest conversations can take place. By your Spirit, fill my heart with compassion and help me reflect the same mercy you have shown me. Teach me to walk gently with those who doubt and to point them to the hope found in Christ alone. In Jesus’ name. Amen.

Heavenly Father, create in me a clean heart and renew a steadfast spirit within me. Forgive me when I sin and mess up by not following your ways and by putting the desires of my heart ahead of your good and gracious will. Help me run into your open arms instead of toward sin. By your Spirit, cleanse my thoughts, strengthen my faith, and restore the joy of your salvation. Help me live today with a heart made new by your grace and a spirit anchored in Christ. Heavenly Father, you are holy, and there is no one like you. Thank you for giving me the gift of Sabbath rest. Forgive me for the times when I rush through life and forget to slow down and remember your goodness. By your Spirit, help me look to you, remember to rest, and recall that I am made in your image and set apart to know you and make you known. Help me keep this day holy by focusing my heart on Christ, who gives true and lasting rest. In Jesus’ name. Amen.

Heavenly Father, you already know everything about me. You know what I am going to say before I speak it, and you know my thoughts, desires, and intentions. Thank you for giving me your truth to guard my mind and heart. Forgive me for the times when I let lies, fear, or sinful thoughts take hold. By your Spirit, tear down every false idea and every argument that sets itself up against Christ. Help me take every thought captive to your Word and fill my mind with what is true, noble, and pleasing to you. In Jesus’ name. Amen.

Heavenly Father, thank you for promising to supply all my needs according to your riches in Christ. Forgive me for the times when I doubt your care or try to rely on my own strength. Thank you for meeting my greatest need when you sent your Son Jesus to rescue me from eternal separation. By your Spirit, teach me to trust your provision, rest in your promises, and find contentment in Christ alone. Remind me to come honestly before you and to trust you with everything I need. In Jesus’ name. Amen.

Heavenly Father, you know my heart better than anyone else, and you still love me unconditionally. Thank you for giving me your Word to shape and guard my heart. Forgive me for the times when I let distractions, sin, or fear take root within me. By your Spirit, protect my inner life, guide my thoughts, and strengthen my faith. Help me keep your truth at the center of all I say and do, so that the life that flows from my heart reflects Christ. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
