Carly Nyholm has spent the summer learning new test methods in the Wisconsin State Laboratory of Hygiene’s Water Microbiology Department as an APHL-CDC Public Health Laboratory intern.

She has loved the chance to get immersed in lab work. In a few weeks, the junior will return to campus where she plans to get involved in research with her faculty in biology and chemistry.

🥳 Congrats to Warren Sauer on his completion of the University of Iowa's Cancer Research Opportunities in Iowa (CROI) summer research program!

He's been working in undergraduate research since his second semester at . This summer, biochemistry and biology: pre-medicine major Warren Sauer got hands-on cancer research experience at the University of Iowa's Cancer Research Opportunities in Iowa (CROI) Program.

The 10-week program wrapped up this week with research conference poster presentations. Sauer plans to rejoin the PFAS research lab under Dr. Ann Impullitti this fall.

"She is very patient with all of her students. I liked how she constructed the labs she put on in class. I didn't know the techniques, messed up at times, but you have to be willing to slowly build up those experiences."
