A Special Message..... (We miss you. We hear you).
Hello friends
As your Chapter President/ Student Government Secretary, and yes, I am still your chapter president, (I will go full on Hood Barbie on those who say different. No not really but it sounds GOOD!) But most of all your friend I felt the pull to reach out. I have heard from a few people lately that we miss one another. We may not miss PTK or EGCC, but we miss the family that we made. As dysfunctional as we were. We miss our friends. And y’all know me and know that I am mushy and over emotional and the one who always wants to keep everybody together, so I've come up with an idea. Feel free to stop reading now or continue on for some pretty exciting stuff.
One of my most favorite parts of our chapter was always the holiday card exchange. No matter what was going on in life, no matter how stressed-out people were, no matter how scary things were for some of us, this card exchange was always something fun and allowed us to just do something nice for one another. So, in saying all of that I am letting you know that I am bringing back the holiday card exchange for 2024.
Also, after speaking to my partner in crime Lisa Shipman, it has been decided that on December 18th at 8:30 PM Eastern Standard Time we're throwing a holiday party. Yes, there will be bingo. Yes, there will be holiday karaoke. Yes, there will even be Kim’s amazing holiday trivia.
I will be the first one to admit that due to circumstances that no longer matter, my heart for all of this took a bit of a hit, and it's taken a little bit of time to heal, but that does not mean that I don't miss my family and I don't miss my friends and as Lisa and I said tonight the minute the bat signal is thrown up we would all be there. So that's what I'm doing. I am throwing up the bat signal for the love of the holidays, for the love of nostalgia, and for the love of our family. Because no matter how we feel about one another now at one point we were family and that is what matters.
I know that I don't have everybody on my Facebook so if you still keep in contact with chapter members send this to them. They don't have to like me, I'm just the idea person and the one that wants to see everybody back together at least one more time. For one night, and a holiday card exchange, we put aside our differences and remember why we did this.
Details will follow once I get my handy dandy Google sheet set up. And yes of course this is going to be a few people more than what was in our chapter or schoolmates because the best part of our chapter/school was that we adopted people, and they loved us just the same.
Love,
Kim
