High School Principal at Father Vincent Capodanno High School in Southern Pines, NC
Father Vincent Capodanno High School is a private, independent school committed to teaching its students the good, the true, and the beautiful within the Catholic tradition. Founded in 2017 by a dedicated group of faithful Catholics seeking a viable Catholic secondary education option within the beautiful Sandhills region of North Carolina. Position Description: Father Vincent Capodanno High School seeks an experienced, energetic, and visionary educator as principal to shepherd its rapid growth in the coming years. This position will require passion, creativity, and flexibility within many areas to include academic innovation, fundraising, promotion, and fostering (true) Catholic discipleship among students, parents, and faculty.
Education: Master’s degree in Educational Adminstration, or its equivalent preferred but not required, and must hold (or be able to obtain) a North Carolina Adminstrator’s License.
Experience: The successful candidate will be a leader with the following traits and qualifications:
• Practicing Catholic with an unwavering understanding and respect for the Magisterial teachings of the Catholic Church
• 3 or more years of classroom experience
• 2 or more years of school administrative service with demonstrated progression of responsibilities, preferably within the parochial school environment
o Ability to articulate effectively the mission, philosophy, and policies to all stakeholders
o Ability to foster professional development of faculty / staff

Instructional Leadership
• Provide weekly lesson plan feedback to assigned teachers
• Conduct full school learning walks
• Track and analyze academic and related data to regularly monitor and improve student achievement
• Oversee curriculum and instruction for specified subject areas
• Ensure at least 1.5 years academic progress each school year for any student who enters Cristo Rey below grade level
Teacher Growth & Development
• Conduct midyear and end-of-year reviews
• Lead or collaborate with principal to plan and execute professional development sessions
• Weekly classroom observations of teachers to inform weekly coaching meetings and teacher development in the areas of lesson ex*****on, instructional strategies, classroom culture, and behavior management
Parent Engagement/Communication/Grade Reporting/Student Retention
• Oversee student-led conference process
• Oversee grade reporting process-data system and logistics
• Attend and lead parent meetings
• Assist with student recruitment and student admission process
Administrative/Academic Operations
Create and deliver budget which includes, receiving, deliverables, projections, 5 year plannning, understanding of the entire school budget cyle.
• Work with the principal in the development of the master schedule
• Manage checkout and inventory process for all instructional resources
• Attend Section 504 and IEP meetings
• Create coverage plan for teacher absences
• Coordinate and manage all technology-based learning programs
• Coordinate and manage all special events
• Coordinate administration of standardized test, EOC, and interim assessments
School Culture/Discipline
• Support the faith formation of students through, but not limited to, attending Mass, attending retreats, and leading prayer
• Monitor and track student attendance; lead intervention for students with attendance issues
• Plan and monitor student detention
• Address, monitor and track student behavioral concerns
• Monitor culture and discipline in common spaces (meals, arrival, dismissal, assemblies)
• Plan and organize special events and whole school assemblies
• Assist with student supervision at school social and athletic events
