The Priestly Discernment Program (Koinonia Household) is a formation program that assists men pursuing and responding to a call to the Catholic priesthood. This unique program is designed to intentionally assist young men to discern God’s call to the priesthood. It also ensures you are well prepared academically to seek admittance into a major seminary or a religious communit

y. Graduates of this program include 400 priests and members of religious communities. Over the past decade, 130 young men have entered seminary or religious life. Upon completion of the Priestly Discernment Program, you’ll receive a certificate. Built on the five pillars of formation

The Priestly Discernment Program at Franciscan is built on five pillars of formation. The United States Conference of Catholic Bishops recommends formation in the four areas of Intellectual, Human, Spiritual, and Pastoral formation, and Franciscan adds a fifth pillar of fraternal formation.

At the end of the 2025-2026 academic year, Koinonia held its annual Senior Banquet to give thanks for the seniors and honor their achievement and to celebrate another blessed year. This year we honored Matthew, Jonathan, Steven, Landon, and Joseph (not pictured). We’re so grateful for the way these men have served the household and the witness they’ve been in their journey of discernment and holiness. From the Diocese of Altoona-Johnstown, SOLT, the Augustinians, a Byzantine monastery, to the Carmelites, we pray for our seniors wherever they go and give thanks for their lives of virtue and service to the Church. .osa
