It was so fun to see students back in the library this week, and to welcome our Librarian of the Day! Another winner of our Meet the Teacher Night Raffle, Elsie, a Houghton fourth grader helped check out books and make book displays for the classes visiting the library on Thursday!

Houghton Library is ready for patrons! We are so excited for students to be back and browse the shelves! We've added over 600 new titles to our catalog, greatly expanded our graphic novel section, and added whole new sections-- Quick Fiction and Special Interest! Our volunteers have been working hard to ensure students can find books they love, but we need help at home too! Please encourage your student to take good care of their library books: use a bookmark, keep them away from pets and babies, and keep them clean and dry!

Another LUCKY raffle winner making memories this week! 🎟✨ Houghton first grader, Zander, was picked up and driven to school in a Sterling DPW truck yesterday! We're not sure who had more fun, Zander or the DPW crew! Thanks so much Sterling DPW!

The MOST sought after prize of our Meet the Teacher Night Raffle: Principal for the Day! 🥳

Congratulations to 3rd grader Emily Hunt, the lucky Houghton PTO raffle winner! 🎟️✨ Emily won the opportunity to be Principal for the Day and got to spend some time alongside Mrs. Boss! 🏫💙

We’re so excited to have had Emily step into the principal’s office and getting a behind-the-scenes look at what it takes to run a school! 📚🍎

Way to go, Emily! We hope you had an amazing day! ⭐🦅

A big thank you to our PTO for creating such a fun opportunity for our students! 💙
