I apologize for the delay on this post. Age apparently catches all of us and it has been an extremely busy month.

Thank you to every fighter who stepped into the ring and showed something far greater than technique last weekend; they showed courage. It takes a special person to willingly test themselves under extreme pressure, knowing there are no shortcuts, no place to hide. Win or lose, that alone deserves respect.

Every one of you honored the work you’ve put in and represented this team with heart, discipline, and respect.

To our first-time competitors, you carried yourselves with the composure of seasoned fighters. If someone had watched you without knowing your experience, they would have assumed you’d been doing this for years. That doesn’t happen by accident. It’s the result of countless rounds, trust in the process, and the willingness to do the work when no one is watching.

I’ve never believed in great coaches. I believe in great students. Students who are willing to listen, to trust, to stay humble, and to show up day after day. A coach can only help reveal what already exists inside someone who is willing to learn. Whatever success we have belongs first to the athletes who choose the hard path.

Thank you for trusting me to be part of your journey. Coaching you is an honor I never take for granted.

To your families, teammates, and everyone who stood behind these fighters.…thank you. No one walks this path alone.

The medals will gather dust. The results will be forgotten. But the discipline earned, the confidence built, the friendships forged, and the character revealed through this journey will remain long after the final bell.

That is the real victory.

Now we put this behind us. We get back to training, we put down the Crumbl Cookie (yes—you), we sharpen one another, we push ourselves and our teammates to be better than we were yesterday. The journey doesn’t end with one competition; it continues with the next round, the next practice, and the next opportunity to grow.

Come out and support not just these incredible ladies representing our gym, but every athlete stepping into the ring for an amazing cause today!

At Disciple MMA Academy, we’re grateful to train in a nation where we have the freedom to pursue our passions, build strong communities, and inspire the next generation through discipline, respect, and perseverance.

First competition for Alex and Christianna in the books today at Copa Nova. Alex walked away with bronze in Nogi Christianna pulled double gold in Gi and Nogi.
