You can weave "school" skills into your regular summer fun without it feeling like work!

💫Fine Motor Strength: Playing with playdough, using stickers, or drawing with sidewalk chalk builds the hand muscles needed for future writing and scissor skills.
💚Listening Skills: Read aloud together for at least 15–20 minutes daily. This helps build their attention span and prepares them for "circle time" at school.
‼️Clean-Up Games: Use a "Clean-Up Song" to make putting toys back in bins a regular, timed activity. This mimics the classroom expectation of being organized.

⭐️Fine motor skills are so important! ⭐️

Here is why they are so vital at this age:

✏️ The Foundation for writing: Before children can write their names, their hands need to be physically strong enough to hold a pencil without fatigue. Activities like squeezing clay or using tweezers build the "tripod grip" necessary for future handwriting.

🎉Boosting Independence: Much of a preschooler's frustration comes from needing help with daily tasks. Mastering fine motor movements allows them to zip their own coats, button shirts, and use forks and spoons independently.

🧠Brain Power & Problem Solving: There is a strong link between hand movements and cognitive development. When children manipulate small puzzle pieces or build with LEGOs, they are actually practicing spatial awareness and critical thinking.

😁Confidence in the Classroom: A child who can confidently handle scissors or open their own lunch container feels capable and ready to take on new challenges. This self-assurance is a huge part of being "school ready"

⭐️Fuel For Thought:
Being a parent is the most rewarding job in the world, but let’s be honest, it’s also one of the hardest. As teachers, we see the "school side" of your children, but we know that you are navigating the deep, daily work of raising them.

There are days when teaching your child, whether it’s a life lesson, a prayer, or just how to put on their shoes, feels like an uphill battle. You might doubt yourself or feel like you’re falling short.

In those moments, remember this: GOD CHOSE YOU!
He didn't pick a "perfect" person; He picked you. He entrusted these specific little souls to your care because He knew your heart, your patience, and your love were exactly what they needed. You are uniquely equipped to be their first teacher because you are the one who knows them best.

When the days are long, give yourself some grace. You were hand-selected for this role, and you’re doing a better job than you realize.
