Every year, the Greater Wichita Sports Banquet shines a spotlight on the best high school athletes in south-central Kansas, and this year's class does not disappoint!

Introducing your 2026 Lynette Woodard High School Female Athlete of the Year finalists:

The winner of each award will be announced live at the Greater Wichita Sports Banquet — Thursday, June 25th at INTRUST Bank Arena.

SJSHS has 4 coaching opportunities available. We are taking applications for Head Softball, Head HS Track, Assistant HS Boys and Girls Tennis, and Assistant JH Tennis. Senior Julia Kilgore of Sterling wins the girls 2A 400m title for the fourth straight year with a time of 56.56.

Congrats to Zane Farney for ✌🏼STATE titles in Track!

2A Boys 300m Hurdles State Champion 🥇

Senior Zane Farney from Sterling takes home the 2A Boys 300m hurdles with a time of 38.68. Farney also won the 110m hurdles earlier this morning.

2A Boys 110m Hurdles State Champion 🥇

Zane Farney of Sterling wins the title with a time of 14.66. Also a standout on the football field as the 2025 S*K 1A Player of the Year. Farney has also been a big part of the Sterling State Champion football and basketball teams this year.
