Sometimes, “I’m fine” isn’t the whole story.

As Su***de Prevention & Awareness Month comes to an end, take a minute to learn some of the signs that someone around you may be struggling.

Changes can look different for everyone, but you might notice someone:

• Withdrawing from friends, family or activities
• Acting noticeably different than usual
• Talking about feeling hopeless, trapped or like a burden
• Experiencing major changes in sleep or mood
• Giving away important belongings or saying goodbye
• Talking about death or su***de

If something doesn’t seem right, you don’t have to have the perfect words. Ask how they’re doing. Listen. Take what they tell you seriously. Help them connect with someone who can provide support.

And if you’re the one struggling, you deserve that same support.
