🍽️ Welcome to Connections Learning Lab… where learning comes to life! 🍽️

This month, our Project-Based Learning experience is all about RESTAURANTS! 👩‍🍳👨‍🍳

Our classroom has transformed into a restaurant world, complete with a dramatic play area where students can practice ordering, serving, greeting guests, handling money, and navigating all the little details that come with dining out.

But we aren’t stopping at pretend play! Our students are collectively creating their very own restaurants—from coming up with their restaurant concepts and logos to designing menus, choosing the atmosphere, planning their customer experience, and deciding what their restaurant will offer. And soon, they will put it all into action by serving their parents and members of our community! ❤️

The best part? We’re already hearing from families about how this project is transferring into real life. 🥰

We’ve heard that students are now:
🍴 Ordering their own meals at restaurants
🗣️ Feeling confident communicating with restaurant staff
👋 Understanding how to appropriately address different people in a restaurant
💵 Developing real-world money and decision-making skills
🤝 Building independence and confidence

One student recently shared something that really stuck with us. She told us she loves ordering for herself now because it makes her feel like her parents trust her. 🥹❤️

THAT is what Project-Based Learning is all about.

It’s not just about learning how to create a menu or run a restaurant. It’s about giving children opportunities to practice skills they will use in the real world—and helping them discover, “I can do this myself!”

At CLL, we love creating learning experiences where academics, life skills, collaboration, creativity, communication, and confidence all come together.

And we can’t wait for you to see what our young restaurant owners have been cooking up! 🍽️✨

🍎🍂 Monday Enrichment = Cooking Class! 🍂🍎

What better way to enjoy a beautiful fall day than with making Carmel apples!

Today our students got hands-on in the kitchen, making their own caramel apples and loading them up with all kinds of delicious toppings! From sweet and crunchy to chocolatey and colorful, everyone got to create their perfect fall treat. 🍏✨

It was the perfect combination of cooking, creativity, and a little bit of sweetness to kick off our week!

Nothing beats learning when you get to eat your masterpiece at the end! ❤️🍎

Mondays at Connections Learning Lab are all about creating, collaborating, and learning by doing! 💡✨

Today our students packed a LOT of learning into one fun-filled class!

🔨 ChompSaw Maker Time — designing, building, and creating with our maker tools
🍂 Fall Art — exploring color value and creating beautiful fall-inspired artwork
⚽ Foosball Game Challenge — students worked together in groups to design and create their very own foosball games!

And because the weather was absolutely beautiful, we took our learning outside! ☀️🍁 We enjoyed a picnic lunch together and even took our art outdoors. There’s just something special about learning, creating, and connecting in the fresh fall air! 🍎🍂

We love watching our students take an idea, work through challenges, share their ideas, and turn them into something they can actually see, touch, and play! ❤️

That’s the magic of enrichment at CLL — hands-on learning + creativity + collaboration + a whole lot of fun! 🌟

🚨 WATCH OUT, BOYS! 🚨

This group of girls is fierce when they collaborate! 😂💪

One of the things we love most about serving ages 5–12 at Connections Learning Lab is watching the magic that happens when different ages, personalities, strengths, and ideas come together.

Today’s mission? Defeat the boys at recess. 😆
The strategy meeting was clearly serious business!

But beyond the laughs, moments like this are exactly why we love mixed-age learning. Older students get opportunities to lead, younger students bring fresh ideas, and everyone learns from one another. ❤️

At CLL, we believe some of the best learning happens when kids are given the space to connect, collaborate, problem-solve, and just be kids together.

And apparently… these girls have a plan. 😉💗

🍎🍂 A chilly, fall-like day calls for homemade applesauce and Apple Pie in a Cup! 🍎

Our students got hands-on in the kitchen today! They cut and prepared fresh apples, added them to the crockpot, and patiently waited as our applesauce cooked and filled the room with the BEST fall smell. ❤️

Then came the best part—turning our apples into a delicious Apple Pie in a Cup! 🥧 We topped our warm applesauce with graham crackers, caramel, and whipped cream. 😋

A little cooking, a little learning, and a whole lot of fall fun at CLL! 🍁🍎

🌸 $1,600 RAISED FOR CLL! 🌸

We are so incredibly grateful for our amazing CLL community! Our Mum Flower Fundraiser raised $1,600 to help support tuition assistance, enrollment opportunities, and clubs for our students. 💚

But this isn’t just about $1,600… it’s about the lives of our CLL children being changed because our community believes in them. ❤️

Every donation, every flower purchased, and every person who shared our fundraiser helps us create opportunities for children to learn, grow, build friendships, discover their strengths, and feel like they truly belong.

This is what community looks like. 🥰
